“Gyotaku” Fish Printing

Pelican Talk

Learn about the white pelican that visit the reservoir each summer.

Fish to Fork

Time: 10 am - 1 pm

Where: Marina Deck

Park rangers discuss fish management at the park including native and invasive species. Removal of the non-native species, walleye and pike, are discussed. There will be a demonstration of fish filleting and observers get to enjoy fish tacos.

Chili Cookoff

Local groups compete with their chili recipes for bragging rights and medals.

Volunteers are needed for this event to help set up, pass out food, and help clean up. Please contact the park if you can help out.

Cross country ski with park staff along the reservoir then stop by the visitor’s Center conference room for lunch from Kate’s Cafe. Please bring your own ski equipment. Reservations are required. Please contact the park office at 970+736+2436.

Full Moon Snowshoe Tour

Yampatika will guide the tour allowing you to explore the winter wonderland of Stagecoach Reservoir by the light of the almost full moon. Discover signs of wildlife and learn about the Yampa River. Go to Yampatika.org for information. Registration is required.

First Day Hike

Start the year right with fresh air and friends. Hikes are usually to the top of Pinnacle Peak or along the bank of the reservoir on the ski trail. After your walk, join Park staff near the parking area for s’mores and hot chocolate by the campfire.

If you have snow shoes bring them. The park has some snowshoes available on a first come first serve basis. Meet at the Arrowhead Picnic Area, the event is free but don’t forget to purchase your park pass.

Debunk the Winter Funk

Debunk the Winter Funk is a chance to play in the snow. This winter sports festival includes, fat tire bikes, ski bikes, sledding, archery, skijoring, ice fishing and axe throwing! Make s’mores with the Oak Creek Fire Department, enjoy a hot dog lunch in the park or do some shredding on a ski bike. There are plenty of activities for all to have a blast. The event and equipment use are free or avoid the line and bring your own equipment.

Spring Clean Up

Help keep our park beautiful by picking up trash, fishing line, and other debris around park facilities and trails. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. Pizza lunch to follow. Call the park office to preregister.
